Helpful tips and tricks for working from home

Working from home has become the new normal in recent months, with more and more employees working part or even full-time from home. It is so cool then that you have a nice and good home office! An inspiring home office is therefore also in your own hands, in this blog we have collected some great tips and ideas for you.

The most important question of all, where am I going to set up my home office? Therefore, think carefully about where and why you want to work in which room in the house. You soon spend hours at a time at your desk anyway. If possible, choose a bright spot in the house; this works many times more productively than a dark room. Do you work in the living room? Then make sure children or your partner don’t have to bother you all the time. All in all, working from home requires adjustments and flexibility from your roommates.

There are plenty of great examples on Pinterest of a home office, a cool old table perfectly styled with a stool or designer chair. It looks good on the outside, but consider that you have hours if not days to work on it. The eye wants something too, but your attitude and therefore your health are the most important!

Work from home and store immediately? Then this sturdy desk with storage might be for you, the shelves you can adjust the height yourself, and there is space enough for two people. Not a whole wall at your disposal? This handy desk is available in a variety of sizes and can be put together yourself.

Showing color

Colors affect the atmosphere of your workplace, but also have a psychological effect on your productivity. For example, yellow provides an optimistic feeling and green provides creativity. For a home office, we also understand that you don’t want to paint your entire room yellow. So our advice is to choose quiet shades. Gray or sand tones are always good, or choose a playful effect by painting a wainscot.

Wall Decorations

Are you facing a wall? Very inspiring it is not. Avoid going blind and choose something beautiful for the wall! An inspirational quote, or a beautiful geometric shape or world map.

That sits like a house!

Good working posture is mega important, back or neck pain is something you want to avoid, of course. Your legs should be at a 90-degree angle and make sure your back is straight. Therefore, invest in a good office chair. Also make sure your monitor is at eye level, possibly put your laptop on an elevation so your head is straight!

Lighting

It is best to work with daylight, this keeps you in your natural rhythm and ensures that you are and stay productive. If you don’t have the opportunity to work in a bright room, make sure you have good lighting. A good option are LED bulbs with the color code 830/840. Hang an eyecatcher of a lamp in your office for the WOW effect!

YOUR OWN PLACE

If you spend a lot of time in your own created office, you also want it to be completely your place. Atmosphere makers are therefore just as important.

  • Choose green plants
  • Beautiful storage boxes or folders
  • Pictures, or inspirational quotes
  • Good speakers for online meeting or ambient music
