We leave the old year behind, it’s January! Maybe you have good resolutions, want to lose a few pounds or finally have money left over at the end of the month, take better care of yourself and exercise more. For some, January is a new beginning to a blank year, for others a boring dark month with little to do, especially now that we are still in lockdown due to corona.

January, a month of making new plans

For a long time January was the most boring month of the year for me, all the coziness suddenly cleared away it seems. The Christmas tree is trimmed and all the outdoor lights are back in the box. As a child I had this, I enjoyed December! Candles, coziness, lights and the holidays, as soon as it became January this was suddenly over…. Although the time of candles goes almost all year with us now.

Meanwhile, January is another month I look forward to, planning for the year ahead. Taking stock of the past year and closing out what we no longer need. Even privately, in January the broom goes through, the Christmas tree is taken out and the whole house is cleaned, a fresh start to the new year!
